Good Morning!  I hope your morning (or afternoon, depending on where you are in the world!) is going well!  We got some new, fun, exciting news yesterday... we have a new addition to our walking team!

My amazing, loving, crazy fun Sister-in-law Jesi is doing the walk with us!

Jesi lives in Orange County California, so will fly up the day before the walk to take part!  I am so excited...

I get to see her in a few days because we are having some family time in California so we will have some fun taking some photos to add to our team shots.

If you have donated to our team... THANK YOU!  We are so truly grateful!  We already have 10% of our totally needed.  If you haven't donated yet... there is still time!  Just use the 'donate' link on the right!

We have 610 views of our fun Harlem Shake video on Youtube!  Can you believe it?!

How fun would it be to get to 1000 views... please share the video with as many people as you can, and encourage your friends and family to share it so we can reach 1000 views!

Baldy fun!

January 2011...
I was 3 doses into my first chemotherapy and my hair was beginning to fall out by the handful.  It was a really hard time for me because it made me face the fact that I was 'sick'!  As a female, you are typically supposed to have beautiful long hair and I was now losing that hair and it was extremely upsetting.  With each shower, more hair would fall out and so it was getting harder to stay strong and have a positive attitude.  I would wake up in the morning and my pillow would be covered in long brown hair... my clothes would be covered in long brown hair...

So, it was time to shave it.  I asked my Mum to help me with shaving it and my younger brother and Dad were there too.  We sat in the bathroom and began shaving.  It was really hard and many tears were shed.  But... what made it easier was knowing that my amazing friend Carrie was doing the exact same thing in America, and she was doing it by choice!

My beautiful friend Carrie, shaved her head to support me and show me how much she loved me!
She had lots of fun shaving hers... our friend Kim, who used to be a hairdresser, did the cutting and she produced some fun cuts!

Carrie was an amazing support!

Carrie and her precious Hannah!

Carrie and her family went to an indoor water part shortly after she shaved her head and an older man asked her if she had cancer and she proudly said... No, I did it to support my friend who does!  I was and still am so very thankful for Carrie and her support!

Fun with Friends

About 6 weeks ago, Jason and I were driving to pick up a nice dose of Chemotherapy and I hear about something called the Harlem Shake on the radio... not knowing what it really was, I came home and looked on YouTube.

Oh boy... it was on... I wanted to make on!

I spoke to many friends in passing about the video and everyone was in, so with 2 days notice, we got ourselves organised and produced this!

I hope you enjoy it cause we had an amazing time making it!

Get to know... Me!

It's me...

If I were to describe myself in 3 words, they would be: out-going, loving and faithful.
The love I feel for my daughter and husband blows me away on a daily basis.
I try to view my Cancer diagnosis as a blessing because it has given me so much and allowed me to experience more than I could imagine.  Having cancer stinks... I think about it constantly, but I make a choice to move past it and get on with life and appreciate all that I have.

I have been blessed with the most amazing Mum and Dad who love me so much and have shown me more support than I could have ever dreamt of and I have 2 wonderful brothers who, I know love me and would do anything for me.  Family and friends mean everything to me.

I try to live life to the full and enjoy it.

Get to know... Sammi

Precious Sammi... our 'baby' is next.

Let me start by saying the Sammi is an extremely talented young lady... she is only 16 years old, but is an amazing song writer and composer and musician.  She has written so many songs... she even has a CD that we love to listen to in the car!  Kayle will beg me to listen to Sammi all the time!   Her personality and character are fantastic and I love her to pieces.  Her jokes make me laugh so hard.  I have spent a lot of time with Sammi recently and really got to know her and I am so glad that I have!  She is such a blessing in my life and helps me focus on what is important... having fun with my family and friends!

I love it when Sammi and I get together and go for 'coffee' and just sit and chat about girlie things... it's one of my favorite things to do!  I miss our drives to her school, rocking out in the car and giggling!

Sammi is Jolene's daughter... she has 5 brothers and sisters...

Get to know... Jolene

Jolene... where do I start...

Jolene is a mother to 6 wonderful children and wife to Walt, the Pastor at our church.  Jolene is one busy woman, but she is an amazing friend to so many.  The support that she provides is outstanding.

Jolene has been there for me from the beginning of this trial.  The night I first found out about the cancer, Jolene and her Walt came over to my house and sat and prayed with me.  She gave me books to read, CD's to listen to and really encouraged me when I was most scared.  When I found out that the cancer had come back, Jolene and Walt came to meet Jason and I at my hospital and took us out for dinner and just made me feel at ease with the news.  Both times, they were supposed to having some time alone!  We have a standing joke that every time Jolene and Walt go away for a night away together, I call them needing them!

Jolene has provided so much support to my whole family... she looked after Kayle on Chemo days, she cooked my favorite dinners for me, she has prayed for me and texted me more times than I can remember, she makes me laugh all the time with her crazy photos and videos but most of all she understands.   She just understands so much of what I am going through and it's so comforting to have someone who understands!

Her friendship is invaluable to me!
