There is so much to tell you... sad and exciting!
Firstly, the sad news... we have lost 2 teammates! Our wonderful friends Jolene and Sammi have had to drop out due to unforeseen circumstances! We are all really sad but totally understand the pressure that comes with trying to raise so much money!
You will both be missed and we will be thinking about you as we walk!
Now onto some exciting news!
I got an email last week while I was lying in the sun in Spain! The email said 'You have been chosen to participate in the Opening Ceremony of the walk! You have been chosen to carry the 'Hope' flag! Please be at the rehearsal on Thursday 19th September. How exciting is that! I am so excited, but a bit nervous too. But how appropriate... the 'Hope' Flag! I have so much Hope for my future and beating this stupid cancer!
More fun news... fundraising news!
We did a bake sale at church a few weekends ago... it was a huge success! We made a HUGE $453.59! Can you believe it... from selling baked goods!
That means...
Carrie is done! She has raised all her money! She has $2315, how amazing is that!
That's 2 down and 4 to go!
Jesi is almost there! She only needs $47! $47!!!! Come on people... $47!! Someone just donate the money so she can be done!! ; )
Heather is about half way through with $1170. She still needs $1130 till she is done!
Heather has some fundraising ideas in the work that I will tell you more about in a bit!
Michele is battling on... she has $1110 so far but still needs another $1190 till she is done. She also has a great fundraising idea that you will all love!
Mandy is still working hard too. She has $825 so is still in need of quite a bit of money. She still needs $1475... but she is being strong in her fundraising too!
PLEASE, make a donation to someone who still needs money... we only have 30 days left! Everyone has to have all their money raised or they can't walk!
Now.. more exciting news... this is our fundraising news! we have all come up with different ideas to help raise money.
First things first... we are doing a big garage sale on Friday 30th August and Saturday 31st August in the car park of Calvary Chapel North Bend. There will also be baked goods for sale. If you have any items that you want to donate, we will be happy to take them off your hands. You can bring them to church any time the week before the garage sale (except Monday) and put them in the first classroom on the left - the Toddler classroom.
PLEASE consider going through your garage or closet and getting rid of those items you have been meaning to take to the thrift store... we'll take them!
Heather has gone around to a number of stores, restaurants, coffee houses and grocery stores and collected gift cards. There will be a big raffle! We will be selling tickets at the garage sale as well as at church... there are some amazing gift cards. PLEASE consider buying a ticket or two!
Mandy is doing a 30 hikes in 30 days to raise money. She is hiking all sorts of trails and invites you go along with her... for a price! She has successfully completed 4 hikes in 4 days... if you want to know more about it, you can read all about it on her

Michele is going all out... she has set up a 'Save it or Shave it' contest!
This involves you making a donation and posting if you want your donation to go towards her Saving her hair.... or SHAVING HER HAIR! Yup... that's right, she is willing to shave her head in order to raise money! You can read all about

I am so excited by all the fundraising that we are doing... I hope and pray that it is enough to meet our goals!
